VIVA! Streets will be 9 car-free blocks, you are encouraged to take the bus, ride your bicycle, skateboard, rollerblade, walk, run, carpool, pedicab and more. However you decide to get here safely, we can’t wait to see you at VIVA! Streets.

CapMetro Bus Schedule
Bus Routes 4, 21/22, 17, and 320 all pass close by East 6th Street. Purchase a day pass on the app or on board for $2.50. As a bonus all buses are equipped with real-time arrival using the app, by text DABNAB to (512) 981-6221, and on the website.

Using the Urban Trail System

  1. Take the Rosewood Park Trail that begins at Alexander, south of Boggy Creek, or at East 12th Street to Pedernales to East 6th.
  2. Boardwalk to Longhorn Bridge to East 6th.
  3. Shoal Creek Trail to West 3rd Street Bikeway. Left on Trinity. Right to 4th Street underpass to get to East 6th.
  4. Johnson Creek Trail to West 5th. West 5th to West 4th. Cross the 4th Street underpass to get to East 6th.

There will be plenty of bike parking available along the route. Please bring your lock.

Carpool and make it a fun roadtrip down to East 6th Street. Please note any no parking signs to avoid any complications.
Please note there will be limited parking available surrounding East 6th Street. If you live in the neighborhood, we encourage you to find non-driving options, if possible, to avoid congestion.

ADA Accessible Parking
ADA Accessible Parking will be available on south bound side streets where available. Please speak with an APD officer upon approaching the intended space.

Street Closures
East 6th Street will be closed from I-35 eastward to Robert Martinez from 6:30 a.m.-7:00 p.m. All streets will reopen at 7:00 p.m. Side streets connected to East 6th will be open for local traffic.

No parking with allowed on East 6th Street from I-35 to Robert Martinez, including the following adjacent side streets:

San Marcos (south of East 6th)
Attayac (south of East 6th)
Navasota (north of East 6th)
Onion (south of East 6th)
Chalmers (north of East 6th)

Chicon and Comal will be open to regular traffic. Please obey traffic laws at these intersections.
